I purchased based on another comment citing a consumer reports rating. That info checked out to be true so I purchased this ladder.
Pros
- good price for a good ladder
- light-weight but feels study
- has a large top step that also feels sturdy
- the trays are well-thought out
- the closing mechanism doesn't seem cheap
- nice handle. I usually forget it's there because it's light enough that I'm not looking for a handle.
Cons
- maybe not even something to complain about, but pay attention when you use the "pull here" latch to close it. It has the potential to barely scrape your fingers (on the top) if you keep your hand there when fully closing shut.
- another minor thing.. I hate when products have stickers that are hard to peel off of the actual product. This one has 2 large ones. Took an extra 15 min cleaning off sticker adhesive. Looks great now though.

A rock solid ladder with every convenience you can imagine. The top step is a platform over 1 sq. ft. in size. Above that is a tray for tools, including screwdrivers, a power drill or driver, a way to snake an electrical cord safely down, places for light bulbs and indentations to steady 1 qt. and 1 gal. paint cans. There are no sharp edges and all parts are high quality. There is even a carrying handle which also serves to lock the ladder in the closed position. I am very glad I chose this one.

I have had a smaller Costco ladder for over 30 years and it still works fine. One of the plastic protectors broke off years ago leaving a shape edge but nothing a little tape didn't fix. I had looked at all the heavy duty ladders and was a little worried about buying such a light ladder but because I have had such good luck with my other Costco ladder, I decided to buy it. This ladder is totally awesome. It is 300 pound rated yet very light weight and easy to carry around. They have extruder ridges into the rails for extra strength and it works very well. It may be pricey but worth every penny and then some.
Buy this one and you will never regret it.

This is an excellent all around step ladder for home or office use. It feels very stable, folds up nicely and is light weight...which the wife really likes. My only complaint is the packing used by the store. The ladder received a few rub marks on the top and sides because of the loose packing/lack of padding in the cardboard box.
