This step stool was already open when I first used it, but I love it for it's stability and ease of moving it. It's great in the kitchen to get to top shelves. I have been searching for it as our local Wal-Mart no longer has it and I'm going to now purchase it. Thanks for warning on opening it from previous reviewer--we will be extra cautious!

Do NOT buy this product. I was looking for the Cosco phone number to report this injury when I spotted Amazon. I am a 51-year-old RN who thought this would be a handy step-stool. I bought it at Wal-Mart, brought it home, unwrapped it, & tried to open the legs, in order to show my husband my handy new stool. I felt a pinch on my finger & started doing a wrist-snap to decrease the pain. Soon I had blood all over the kitchen! The cut was ~ 1/16" deep x 5/8" long. Finger cuts bleed a lot, which accounted for the mess. I am an adult who knows better: don't get this item for a child! My husband was pinched, but not cut, when he tried to open the stool. This is a dangerous product. AVOID!

This is the 3rd telescoping ladder I have owned and by far my least favorite. The wide-step is nice but hardly makes up for the amount of movement in the ladder itself. When extended this ladder moves and flexes and moves from side to side. I weigh 140lbs. and find it very uncomfortable. I intend to sell this and have already bought myself the 15.5' Extend and Climb which is a far superior product... I will write a review about it.

I LIKE THE CONCEPT, BUT THIS IS ONE DANGEROUS LADDER. IF YOU HIT A TAB ON THE SIDE IT CAN FOLD UP ON YOU. DO NOT TRY TO PULL IT UP FROM THE TOP FROM A ROOF. AND IF YOU ARE NEAR THE WEIGHT MAX IT DOES BEND A BIT. IT IS SMALL AND PORTABLE BUT YOU GOT TO KEEP IT CLEAN AND BECAREFUL WHEN CLIMBING. I WOULD NOT USE WHEN I STOPPED USING MINE, I RECYCLED IT I DID NOT WANT THIS BACK OUT TO SOME ONE THAT MIGHT NOT KNOW HOW TO USE THE PRODUCT SAFELY. THE LADDER IS JUST RIGHT FOR A ONE STORY ROOF, BUT IT JUST IS NOT A SAFE AS MY LITTLE GIANT AND ABOUT DOUBLE THE WEIGHT. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE ON THIS LADDER. AND I AM WELL UNDER THE WEIGHT MAX. IT SHOULD BE RATED FOR NO MORE THEN 200 LBS.

The first time I tried to use the ladder one of the rubber feet came off. It is apparently only held on with a single machine screw and nut. The foot won't on. When I can figure out to get it done I plan to add a washer so the thing doesn't slip over the nut.

This ladder is too lightweight to be so tall. It is unstable and the piece of metal that forms the locking cross piece is too high to provide support. Mine bent and collapsed with far less than 200 lbs on i!

I am still limping 3 months later.

In pursuit of repainting the interior rooms of our 1907 house with very high ceilings, we desperately needed a ladder to do the job and do it right. I own two of these green fiberglass ladders, and use them regularly on the job. They are good ladders. The difference between these and the blue version are the yellow plastic braces at the bottoms. The blue ladder has aluminum braces.

I would own the yellow or orange, but they are expensive (I really do need them though).

I recommend this product to everybody. It saved me the cost of renting other equipment which was bulky and hard to set up. The Tricam Plat-08 was very easy to set up and operate. Once you get the hang of it, it's just Great! Now, I love my Gorilla Ladder along with my Tricam Plat-08.

This platform is very sturdy and works with my Gorilla Ladder. The only caveat is that when I extend my ladder there are various combinations of steps with one or two rungs to step on. When the front lip of the platform is on a step with two rungs it can be tricky to get the lip between the two rungs in order for the platform to be level. Having a helper to position the lip of the platform, while you stand above the platform, is one solution.

For those who are looking for a stool that you don't have to pick up to move, this rolling stool is perfect. In the kitchen, I can just kick it to where I want it and step up. Once you put weight on it, the wheels retract and the base of the stool remains stable on the floor. When you step off, the spring-loaded wheels come back out ready to be rolled to the next place. This is the type of stool that are used in libraries. The heavy-duty steel version costs more, but this particular Xtend & Climb 962 is made of sturdy plastic, is lighter weight, and is reasonably priced.

One of the legs was not secure upon arrival, fell right outof the unit. I didn't have the unit replaced as it didn't glide as nicely as some of the pricey metal ones I have used.

It did seem to perform as priced however. If you need one and are on a budget this will suffice, just don't expect the same glide and movement as the expensive models.

I agree...our local wal-mart sells the 17ft ladder with same weight rating for only $127 (The 13ft ladder is the $89 one). I would definitely buy it somewhere else...but that ladder works great for so many different things, very sturdy!
